Changelog

  • The documentation moved from GitBook to LightBench Docs: https://lightbench-docs.pages.dev/robbing/. The commands and permissions, configuration, supported versions, changelog and downloads pages are now built from the plugin itself at every release.
  • plugin.yml declares every permission with a description, so permission plugins (e.g. LuckPerms) list and suggest them: robbing.admin, robbing.help, robbing.reload, robbing.give, robbing.lock, robbing.unlock and the four robbing.craft.<item> permissions were missing. robbing.craft.* now grants them on every server, also without a permissions plugin that resolves wildcards. Defaults are unchanged: operators only.
  • Clearer comments in config.yml: item names for the rob blacklist and whitelist, how permitted-commands is matched, the safe options.
  • On servers with WorldGuard, robbing, handcuffing and kidnapping did nothing: Robbing logged NoClassDefFoundError on startup, its flags robbing-steal, robbing-handcuffing and robbing-kidnap were never registered (Unknown flag specified) and every region check failed with an error. Broken since 2.3.0: the plugin jar pointed to a renamed copy of WorldGuard that does not exist.
  • Robbing Lite, the free edition (SpigotMC resource 105443): rob and handcuffs, built from the same code as Robbing and released with every version as Robbing-Lite-X.Y.Z.jar. Kidnapping, safes, lockpicking, /911, WorldGuard flags and MySQL stay in Robbing; in Lite /rb lock, /rb unlock and /911 point to it. Upgrading is a jar swap: same config.yml and database, the missing sections are added with their default values.
  • Startup warning Error while trying to update language files, be sure to have the latest version of the plugin installed. on every server: the language files were downloaded from the GitHub repository, which is private (every request got HTTP 404). They are now updated from the files bundled in the plugin jar, which always match the installed version: only missing messages are added, customised messages and comments are kept, and a file is written only when something was added. No network access, no more blocking HTTP calls on startup and on /rb reload.
  • Clicking an NPC (e.g. Citizens) sent “You do not have permission” even with rob.NPC-rob: false, and without sneaking: NPCs are now ignored before any check, and the rob permission message is sent only for an actual robbery attempt (sneak + right-click when rob.sneak-to-rob is on). NPCs are recognised by the NPC metadata and by being player entities that are not connected players, without depending on any NPC plugin.
  • Trying to rob a player with robbing.notrobable said “You do not have permission”; it now says “This player cannot be robbed” (new message robbing.not_robbable).
  • A sneaking player who damaged themselves (e.g. with a gun plugin) was “caught” by themselves and slowed down.
  • Double-clicking an item while robbing gathered the matching items from the victim’s inventory, ignoring the blacklist/whitelist and the robbing cooldown.
  • Error in the robbery inventory when rob.NPC-rob is true and the robbed NPC is not a connected player.
  • A robbing/caught cooldown could end early when it was set again before expiring.
  • Plugin failing to enable on Windows with Error while removing Light logs file.
  • The update check announced older versions as updates (Robbing 2.3.0 said “New version is: 2.1.4”, Robbing Lite “1.3.24”): only a newer SpigotMC version is reported now. The check no longer makes two blocking HTTP requests on the main thread at every player join: it runs in the background on startup and every 12 hours.
  • Resource pack published on Modrinth, with a new version whenever it changes: modrinth.com/resourcepack/robbing-resource-pack.
  • One resource pack zip for every supported Minecraft version (1.19.4 → 26.3) instead of one zip per version.
  • Support for Minecraft 1.19.4 up to 26.3 with a single jar (tested on Paper 1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.4, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.3).
  • Resource pack item model definitions for 1.21.4+ clients (resource-pack/pack.sh builds the pack).
  • End-to-end test suite with bots (testing/).
  • Redesigned resource pack: steel safe door GUI with recessed keypad, PIN display and handle wheel; lock cross-section GUI for lockpicking; metal keypad keys; steel/brass lock pins; shinier handcuffs and lockpick; new pack icon.
  • Resource pack tools: tools/validate.py (static checks), tools/generate_textures.py (procedural textures), tools/preview/build_page.py (before/after preview page).
  • Robbery was never interrupted when the victim walked beyond rob.max-distance.
  • rob.whitelist never matched lowercase item names, so whitelisted items could not be stolen; robbing: items are now matched by identifier in whitelist and blacklist.
  • Error when a kidnapped player disconnected; the kidnapper stayed in kidnapping mode.
  • Error in the “caught” action bar while running /rb reload.
  • Handcuffs were not consumed when handcuffing.escape is enabled; the escape countdown now runs on the main thread.
  • safe.only_owner_can_break did not protect a safe while the player who locked it was offline.
  • The locker of a safe was ignored by /rb lock (the placer was saved instead), affecting limit-locked-safes and only_owner_can_break.
  • Missing “no permission” message when using a lockpick without permission.
  • /911 coordinates used the server locale (0,50, -60,00 on an Italian server): always 0.50, -60.00 now.
  • Releasing a kidnapped player fired ToggleKidnapEvent as if kidnapping.
  • Handcuffs key showed as a plain stick with the resource pack (wrong custom model data).
  • Wrong resource pack formats for 1.19.4 and 1.21.
  • Keypad keys 0, 1 and cancel showed their mirrored face in the inventory.
  • Keypad key 5 was shown upside down in the safe keypad.
  • Missing particle textures on five models (missing-texture particles when dropped).
  • Documentation: commands and permissions pages match the plugin (/rb handcuffs, /rb give amount, robbing.use_safe, robbing.bypass_rob_rules, robbing.911, robbing.police), new pages/sections for /911, safe PIN keypad, breaking safes, escaping and breaking handcuffs, robbing-kidnap flag, safe settings; whitelist description fixed (only listed items can be stolen).
  • Vanilla atlas overrides from the resource pack (outdated on 1.21.2+, not needed).
  • Unused textures (minecraft:custom/*, robbing:gui/default).
